And then they came back.

And I was more prepared, and in a much better position for taking some pics. :)

The last one is funny, because that is the end of my street. So yep, right in the neighbourhood. The one with the house is when I was standing in my driveway.

Thanks for the show!!!!!

//and if you click on the first one, and look at the tower, you can see the guy hanging off it!

Awesome shots Dagny... but what exactly are they doing?

It kinda looks like they are pulling on the hydro wires. Are they putting them up, taking them down or plucking them and playing helicopter banjo?

I've always wondered as well, do most rotary folks start out as FO on a big sikorsky, or PIC on something smaller?

It always seems to me that there is really only the Robinson for little helicopters, and then your into turbine equipment, which would be sweet for a first job, but is that likely?

What about the market in Canada, is there a place where low-time rotorheads go to get their start, like Yellowknife or Red Lake ?

Thanks for posting, looking forward to more pics!

They were putting the wires up. I can't say I'm thrilled about the ugly new towers near my house...but oh well, nothing I can do about it now...LOL.

As for jobs...from what I can tell, for the most part it's like fixed wing. You gotta start at the bottom and work up. That seems to usually involve working the ramp in the bush for choppers. I'm 'kinda' hoping I can by pass the ramp thing...but I am also not holding my breath..at least WSIB would be topping up my wages so i'd be the highest paid rampie of that happens...LOL.

I'm also hoping my ifr exp and having a ifr H will help me with my search...just glad it will be a while until I have to worry about that. ;)

That would indeed be strange to have a 5000+ hr pilot (with a bad back) working the ramp, lol.
